The last paragraph is extremely important. In this environment where there is need to enhance revenue through fees and advice, right asset allocation is important. Instead of relying on someone else to generate alpha and distributor getting commission for it, it is important for one to participate in alpha generation and earn fee and justify the current commission. Maximum return is generated by being in right asset class at right time. E.g. in 2008, it mattered whether you were in equity, debt or gold. Which scheme within equity? That hardly mattered!!! |

Direct Share Class or No, knowledge based service will do the trick. Direct Share Class has its own systemic faultlines. This is where an IFAs advisory can really chip-in. As I have said before, I would like to reiterate that Direct Share Class is going to be a miniscule minority. Start going beyond the T-15 & B-15, you will increasingly notice that Direct Share Class has just no place there & a committed IFA is who will matter the most. I appreciate the idea of sharing our experiences.Here is One.
A prospect of mine was pissed off because a fund house had not delivered her redemption cheque in time.My discussion just revolved around service issues and was a waste of time.
