The real shock to all Advisory based IFA will come only after 5 to 10 years when their client s will become aware of all their needs and they can take care of themselves on their own and even the advisory based IFA will not be there and they will have no further role to play. Smart investors are doing that. They take advise and starts managing their assets on their own. Its like taking advise for CA & Lawyers and kick them lateron coz i can do all on my own. So who needs them.

Do you even know who pays for advise? When you gave example of photo editing do you even know investment is not like photo editing. Every individual doesnt need photo editing or its not their liking but investment is something which whether you like or dont like you need it. Its like breathing clean air or air with bacteria. But you need to breath. Its not choice but compulsion. So this painting example is irrelevant. Secondly the ones who are paying their advisors are not retail investor or people like u or me. It is only the HNI or Ultra HNI who pays or willing to pay for advise wher they dont feel the pinch much. However retail people which is over 95% will never prefer to pay no matter even if industry goes towards it or not. Do we ever buy Fridge, AC cost price seperately to the company and seperate cheque to the showroom people? No naa even if this model comes in future still people will not pay showrooms and they will happily buy directly from company.

I would like to add one more Reason to pay charges that is INNOVATION. If your product is unique and result oriented investor will pay you the charges happily. You should provide such a mechanism that is not available in cheaper (or free) alternatives and remember that it should be effective also. If you can do this why Investors will not be ready for paying your charges.
