Red Dot President's Message
It gives me great pleasure to address you all this issue of KAMFA Quest.

The year gone by was a momentous one for KAMFA, which witnessed the first Annual Convention of our Association, held in Bengaluru. The event has been acknowledged as a great success in industry circles and has set a benchmark for similar events.

KAMFA has widened its horizons with the opening up of local chapters at Hubli, Mangalore and Mysore in order to connect effectively with the IFAs in these towns and nearby areas. Nominations of one member each from these chapters to the central Management Committee have been invited to ensure integration of thought process and actions across Karnataka in a uniform manner.

KAMFA Learning  Academy has continued to provide quality learning initiatives and programs for our members. SANKALP, a customized learning initiative, developed by Axis Mutual Fund jointly with your KAMFA, is a series of Knowledge and training modules for the benefit of our members. I request you to utilize it to the maximum. I also wish to thank in advance other AMCs who have already come forward to host interesting events for the Kamfa Learning Academy.

In the recently concluded AGM, election of new management committee members was held in a democratic, transparent and professional manner leading to the formation of the current Management Committee. We place on record its appreciation for the efforts and services of Shri Kumaraswamy, member, who was responsible for conducting the election. The Committee also places on record its appreciation of and gratitude for the members who participated in the voting process. We also wish to place on record the excellent work done for KAMFA by the previous team eminently led by Past President Sri R N Gurusimha.

Taking cognizance of the inputs received from various members who attended the AGM your committee, in order to enhance member connect, visibility and systems and processes, has structured itself into focus groups for operational efficiency and productivity. Given the talent pool at its disposal your committee has formed-

  1. A PR team to increase visibility and to enhance engagement levels with members.
  2. Risk Management And Control unit to access, analyze and control risk in any of its functions
  3. KAMFA Learning Academy to fulfill our training and learning needs
  4. Grievance cell for the benefit of our members as a third level of escalation for solving industry related problems
  5. Legal and compliance cell for ensuring all activities of our Association comply with our bylaws and the laws of the land.

Your Management Committee welcomes and actively seeks volunteers to strengthen its hands in any of the functional areas listed above. Work is also in full swing for creating an effective website for KAMFA.

Today, KAMFA has a member base of over 250 members spread over Bengaluru, Belgaum, Hubli, Mangalore and Mysore. While acknowledging the fact that this is indeed a solid foundation for our Association, I would like to emphasize the urgent need to bring in more members into our fold to become more robust as an organization and as a force to reckon with in the industry.

I seek the support of all our members in this endeavor to increase our membership base.

I wish you all the very best of luck in your practice and remain,

Yours Sincerely,
Kannan K.V.
